These terms cover your use of Babe Why, a desktop app for macOS. By installing or using Babe Why, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app.
The app, in short
Babe Why is a comedy menu-bar utility that plays voice clips when you switch to certain apps. The voice character ("Babe") teases you for opening distracting apps. The roasts are jokes. They are not directed at any real person, and they are not endorsed by any of the apps or brands mentioned. All trademarks belong to their respective owners.
License
When you buy Babe Why, you get a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use it for personal use on the Macs you own or control. A license is good for the lifetime of the major version you purchased (for example, 1.x). Future major versions (2.x, 3.x) may require a separate purchase.
You may not:
- Redistribute, resell, sublicense, rent, or lend the app
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble it, except where local law expressly permits
- Remove or alter any copyright notices
- Use the app to harass, target, or harm any individual or group
Refunds
If the app doesn't work or you change your mind, email james.paul.mckinney23@gmail.com within 14 days of purchase for a refund. Refunds are at our discretion after that window. Refunds are processed by Lemon Squeezy.
Updates
We may release updates at any time. Some updates may add, change, or remove features. Critical security or bug fixes will be made available to all current license holders.
Voice clips and content
Bundled voice clips are provided as-is for personal use inside the app. You may not extract, repackage, or redistribute them. Custom clips you record yourself remain yours; you grant no rights in them to us.
No warranty
Babe Why is provided "as is." We don't promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every future macOS version. Use at your own risk.
To the extent allowed by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Limitation of liability
To the extent allowed by law, our total liability to you for any claim relating to the app will not exceed the amount you paid for your license in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.
Termination
You may stop using the app at any time by deleting it. We may terminate your license if you breach these terms, in which case you must stop using and delete the app.
Changes
We may update these terms. If we do, we'll update the effective date at the top. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of California (or whichever U.S. state we are based in at the time of dispute), without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
